Maullin, Puerto Natales, Puerto Montt, Patagonia, Punta Arenas, and Santiago. From what I remember, there were lots of American products there. The low prices make Santiago a shopping wonderland. Your US dollars go a long way and it's like an all-day every-day half-price sale at Macy's. But why, may I ask, would you want to buy American products in South America? Some of the most sought-after handcrafted items include alpaca clothes and copper goods. However, if you like antiques, beware that the prices can be quite high and shipping to the USA is very expensive. For local handicrafts in Santiago, check out the goodies from Chile鈥檚 indigenous Aymara and Mapuche Indians, who make handcrafted musical instruments like the pan flute and 10-string guitars. Chile鈥檚 largest flea market is located along Bio-Bio street in Santiago, and this weekend-only flea market sells everything imaginable, including antiques. If you like antiques, check-out the Sunday-only market on Paseo Estado street, between Alameda and Plaza de Armas in Santiago. Los Dominico's market that is known for local handcrafted products, jewelry and furniture. There are shopping malls in Santiago, including Alto Las Condes, Parque Arauco and Mall del Centro. There is also Santa Lucia Handicraft market, located on Alameda road, Pio Nono in Bellavista, for handcrafted paintings and handcrafts. The downtown Santiago area has many wonderful sidewalk cafe's with great food, friendly people and super-cheap wines. ^_^|||Santiago is the most modern city in South America if you go from the US you will be surprised to find a city just like any major city in the United States. So if you don't find as many "american" goods in the supermarket as you wanted is because the local industry has the same product with a better price and the american imported product eventually was drawn out of market. Sometimes for the price and sometimes because people there don't demand it. You might find Campbell's Soups, many Chocolate bars (M & M's, Sneekers, Milky Way etc) some dairy products, Kraft Products, Kellog's, Aunt Jemima's Maple Syrup, Jack Daniel's, Californian Wines, some frozen products. If you don't find Kellog's POP Tarts is because the try to sell them a long time ago but the chilean people don't eat them for breakfast. Anyway, if there's something you don't find, I bet that there is another one similar (not necesarily chilean). The best places to buy are JUMBO, LIDER, UNIMARC & EKONO and they are found all around Santiago.|||It's very easy!!! specially in the central zone (IV region, V region, VI region and Santiago!!! ) You can find these products in, Malls, Shopping, Jumbo, Lider (hypermarkets)|||bueno ya que sabes espa帽ol te respondo en mi idioma lo mas seguro es ir a los supermercados JUMBO del barrio alto (las condes, vitacura etc), pero tienda solo de productos estadounidenses no he visto en santiago debido a que son mas caros que los productos nacionales|||i'm sure it's just like going to the corner store--Ri-i-i-i-ght. How deluded does one have to be? knowing you're going to the opposite end of the earth and expect to find everything to your convenience. give me a big break.
