Por que, mis amigos?

If you actually need examples for this, I suggest you open up to almost any page of any comprehensive world history book.|||I know what you're referring to, but I think the mistake is (and I recently posted a question about this here) to assume that Christian ways are good, mild, humane, and that bad, cruel, inhuman means un-Christian. This is the same kind of propaganda as what we heard from Lenin and Stalin and Mao and Pol Pop and the Kims and even Hilter. The worst evildoers like to pretend to be sweetness and light. Apart from the early days (when they were being persecuted themselves) and perhaps to some extent the last 60 years, Christianity has been the most violent and bloodthirsty movement in history. Only in recent times have the Nazis and Communists given it a run for its money.|||because nobody is perfect, and the leaders of this world mostly aren't true Christians|||Because for the sake of the name. There is only one christ and many human committing error christians that is why.|||Saying you are a christian and being a christian are two totally different things. Peoples actions have nothing to do with their religious beliefs. Christianity has to do with a personal relationship with God and if these world powers had sucky relationships with God thats their problem and cannot be reflected onto all Christians.|||Will you choose eternal condemnation or
will you choose to abide the precepts in the Book of Mormon?|||It would depend on the exact example because different incidents are from different people, many of which would have different motives. Answers could range from "they slipped up, no one is perfect" all the way through "they thought that's what God wanted." However it is important to realize that just because people call themselves Christians (or anything else for that matter) does not mean that is what they really are.

Being a Christian (in a quick summary) entails believing in Jesus as their savior. As a result of this it should produce someone living a life to the best of one's ability as to follow the teachings in the scriptures. Some people consider themselves Christians, some don't. Some that call themselves Christians are not meeting the criteria. Also scriptures mention these types of people (that do evil in the name of Christ):

Just a couple of examples:

Matthew 7:20 "So then, you will know them by their fruits."

and

Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; Depart from me you who practice lawlessness."

I would say these people are not really Christian. Christians are not perfect, but many do a lot of good around the world so people should not "throw out the baby with the bathwater."

I'm a cow....moo. Doesn't really work does it?
