Okay. Can someone break it down in the stupidest way or easiest way. When do use de que when your speaking spanish. What does it really mean. And how do you use de with donde. De donde. I know what does de donde eres mean but why! Is the de there.|||Okay,
De que, literally mean of what. For examples:
De que es la ensalada.-Literally: Of what is the salad? Means:What is the salad made of?
or de que marca son tus zapatos?- Literally: Of what brand are your shoes? Means: What brand are your shoes?

De donde means of where? But we don't use it literally.
De donde eres- Literally: From where are you? Means: Where are you from.
De donde son tus zapatos? literally: From where are your shoes? Means: Where are your shoes from?
De means from. Yo soy DE Colombia. I am FROM Colombia.
From spanish to English don't translate it literally. It will not make sense.
Best of luck!
Hope I can be of some help :)|||de can be translated to "of" or "from", so you would say de donde eres (loosely translated, from where are you, or as commonly spoken, where are you from). Otherwise, donde is usually used by itself --- where is it? donde esta? (except when one adds A, meaning "to", such as adonde vas (literally, to where are you going, although we typically say just where are you going).

De que is similar. Think of if it would make sense to have OF or FROM with WHAT. That should help with when to use DE.

Of course, it's always helpful to review specific examples given in class or in your textbook too.|||de que====of what or from what

de donde===from where

de donde eres is literally-"from where are you?" which in english due to gramatical sentence structure changes becomes "where are you from"

de que can be used to ask about the characteristics of certain things
for instance "de que esta echo el pan?" ----what is in the bread?--literally translated>>"from what is the bread made?"
de que tela esta echo el vestido?--from what fabric is the dress made?

u can also ask where are person is from using de que
ex] de que pais eres?>>what country are you from?
de que ciudad eres?>>what city are you from?|||De que is used to describe something or nothing Like Gracias . No hay de que

De donde eres is used as a descriptor

Hope this helps
