Que:
Find the slope intercept form of the equation of the line that passes through the points.
(5, -1), (-5, 5)|||To find the slope-intercept form when given two points, you need to find the slope first.
use the equation m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
you should get m = (5 - (-1))/(-5 - 5)
m = 6/-10
m = -3/5
Then use the either the point-slope form of the slope intercept form. I'll use the slope-intercept form.
y = mx + b
Pick one point and plug it in for the x and y. Then plug in the slope and solve for b
-1 = (-3/5)(5) + b
-1 = -3 + b
2 = b
Now plug in the m and the b in the slope form and that gives your equation.
y = -3/5x + 2|||M(slope)=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)
y_2=5
y_1=-1
x_2=-5
x_1=5
so we can we plug that in and find the slope
(5-(-1))/(-5-5)
6/-10
then simplify to
-3/5
