If so, how long does it take to process?

I have a flight on Saturday 12th December (but cannot get to the embassy until the morning of Tuesday 8th Dec). Can this be done? Thanks in advance.|||Based on the information of the Indian High Commission website the visa application procedure has been outsourced through commercial application centers, which collect the applications, check the completeness, collect the visa fees and forward the applications to the High Commission for decision. Only walk in applications by diplomats, official and service passport holders will be handled by the Indian High Commission on individual basis. The processing time for UK passport holders will be 2-3 working days.

Anyway! last time my mum went to India (april 09) I queued up early and got the visa for her on the same day, but I think it varies between 3 month and 6 months. But I would check on their website to confirm. Don't bother calling them because they are useless and will never pick up the phone. You can get someone else to get it for you, if you can't get there yourself, you don't have to be present. I'm lucky to have a 5 year visa so I never have to worry about that!

make sure you wrap up warm though!

Have a great holiday, where in India are you going?|||Only if you promise to go home when you should.
